Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Pantry (食尽) respects your privacy. Pantry is an iPhone app that helps you manage pantry ingredients, discover recipes, and create shopping lists. This policy explains what data Pantry handles and how.

2. Data We Store

Pantry works with the following data, which you create as you use the app:

• Inventory data (ingredients, quantities, dates, storage locations)
• Recipes (built-in, custom, imported, or AI-generated)
• Shopping lists
• Preferences (cuisines, tastes, dietary goals, app settings)
• AI settings (selected provider, model, and your API key)

3. Local Storage

By default, your data is stored on your device. Pantry has no server of its own, and the developer does not collect, receive, or store your pantry data.

4. iCloud Sync

If you enable sync, Pantry uses Apple CloudKit to keep data in sync between your own devices.

• Data is transmitted directly through Apple's infrastructure, under your personal iCloud account.
• Pantry developers do not have access to your CloudKit data.
• You can turn sync off at any time in Settings.

5. AI Providers

When you choose to use AI features, relevant recipe and ingredient information — and, for photo features, the photo you select — may be sent to the AI provider you configure. Only the information necessary for the feature is sent.

Built-in provider options include: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Alibaba Cloud (Qwen), Moonshot AI (Kimi), and MiniMax. You may also configure a custom compatible provider. Data processing by any provider is governed by that provider's own privacy policy. This data is sent using your own API key, directly to your chosen provider, and never passes through any developer server. It is not linked to your identity and is not used for advertising or tracking.

6. API Keys

API keys are stored locally in the system Keychain and/or within your personal iCloud account. Pantry developers do not receive or store your API keys.

7. Analytics

Pantry contains no analytics or tracking SDKs and does not sell personal data. If analytics services are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated.
